On December 7, by-invite-only American Express members enjoyed a special dining experience at The Sushi Bar’s newest outlet in Plaza Singapura. The menu features seven premium off-menu dishes paired with the finest selection of sake.
Highlights include truffle oyster ponzu, three kinds of seasonal sashimi, scallop mentai, foie gras chawanmushi, salmon belly aburi, madai sushi, and homemade tofu cheesecake.
These were paired with selected sakes such as Ohmine 3 Grains Hi-ire Yamadanishiki, Kamoshibito Kuheiji Junmai Daiginjo Kurodadsho Ni Umarete, and Ohmine 3 Grains Natsu-No-Otozure Yamadanishiki.
“The Sushi Bar has served quality food since the beginning. Our customers are well-travelled and have a sophisticated palate. We strive to create more exciting experiences for them. These off-menu dishes are paired with sake pairing to further enhance the flavours,” says Eugene Heng, director of The Sushi Bar.
His favourite dish is the foie gras chawanmushi, as the the rich and buttery flavours of the foie gras goes together beautifully with the silky egg custard. “It pairs well with the Kuheiji Kurodasho sake,” he adds.
Aside from good food and great conversation, guests also took home shopping vouchers courtesy of the newly renovated and expanded Muji at Plaza Singapura—the largest global flagship store in Southeast-Asia.
