Oh, what didn’t we love at the world’s first AP Café? Let’s start with the decor. Nestled within the historic Raffles Singapore, its design—vaulted ceilings, sleek metal, and marble accents—creates an ambience that is both intimate and inviting.
Lunch with the girls? Sit indoors—the light and air-conditioning are just right for tete-a-tetes. Coffee break between appointments? Head to the patio. With its breezy, laidback atmosphere and abundant greenery, it’s ideal for a quick contemplative cuppa.
The menu, curated by the award-winning team at Burnt Ends, is a refined take on Swiss classics with a local twist. Audemars Piguet’s South-east Asia CEO Stefanie Ng tells us the White Pepper King Crab & Avocado is her favourite. “It is crafted with such great precision, reflecting AP’s attention to detail,” she shares.
With succulent, hand-picked roasted king crab dressed in white pepper and lemon, topped with sliced creamy avocado and a perfect dollop of caviar, all artfully presented in a caviar tin can, it is an exquisite dish.
For a heartier option, Chicken Rice Club Sandwich reimagines Singapore’s iconic dish, complete with a house-made ginger and chilli dressing. Just as delicious, Spiced Beef Tartare, Wonton Skins pairs crisp fried wonton skins with hand-cut Australian wagyu beef tenderloin, served with sriracha and soy-cured egg yolk.
Don’t leave without sampling the desserts. Gula Melaka Pain Suisse offers a delightful balance of sweetness and texture, while Hazelnut Crunch features Valrhona chocolate and caramel on a hazelnut praline with toasted hazelnuts.
There’s no denying, however, that AP Café’s Swiss Roll, Honeycomb & Honey Ice Cream is a crowd favourite, thanks to its vanilla sponge, chestnut puree, white chocolate Chantilly cream, vanilla icing, and candied chestnuts. It is sweet… but not too sweet.
