An exclusive introduction to Ex Nihilo
It’s the luxury fragrance brand only insiders know. Olivier Royere, co-owner of French-based Ex Nihilo, introduced Vesper Glitz, the maison’s newest fragrance, to guests of a+ at its new boutique in Ngee Ann City.
Royere shared his technique for layering scents over champagne and hors d’oeuvres. While demonstrating the art of spritzing using the brand’s hair mist, he revealed that it contains keratin, a protein that reduces frizz, increases shine, and strengthens hair. Ex Nihilo also offers candles, body and hand moisturisers, and travel sets.
Wonder of women’s Third Anniversary
Founded by Gracelyn Lin, the fifth-generation CEO of Sing See Soon, Wonder of Women celebrated its third anniversary in March by honouring their journeys and the strengths they demonstrate in work, family, and relationships through healthy living and eating. Guests participated in Beat Fit and Zumba sessions, and created edible plant art with Little Botany and Little Big Garden.
Furthermore, there were workshops on sustainable vegetable production and harvesting, and a talk on food accessibility and security. A portion of the ticket sales went to support the organisations Beautiful People and Daughters of Tomorrow that empower women of all ages.
The First (Of Many) Secret Sessions
Introducing Secret Sessions, our intimate new invite-only networking cocktail event. The twist: guests are only informed of the location 24 hours before the festivities begin, and they must bring a friend who fits the theme. The inaugural event, themed Past and Future, took place in the generously appointed Campari Group RARE Attico space on the 28th floor of the Gateway building, The location offered breathtaking views of the Singapore Flyer and Singapore Strait, along with vantage points for sunset watching.
A variety of drinks were available to the 16 guests, including Lallier Champagne Blanc De Blanc, Lallier Champagne Rose, Negroni, and Aperol Spritz. In her presentation, Michelle Chen, regional commercial manager for Campari (RARE Portfolio), outlined the brand’s history and plans for the future. As part of the brown spirits session, attendees sampled The Glen Grant 15 Year Old whisky, Bisquit & Dubouché XO cognac, and Appleton Estate 21 Year Old Rum. Several even got to mix their own Negronis and Aperol Spritzes.
The highlight of the night was a human bingo game with intriguing entertaining facts contributed by each visitor. The winner received a bottle of the award-winning Bisquit & Dubouché XO. Guests included a palm reader who offered palm reading sessions to anyone who could locate her.
