Maison Francis Kurkdjian is by no means an unknown brand in the world of luxury perfume. Scroll through the millions of perfume-related content on TikTok and one could easily find mentions of Oud Satin Mood and Baccarat Rouge 540 — two of the maison’s most popular creations. In fact, the former alone has garnered at least 4 million views on the platform.
It’s surprising to note then that Maison Francis Kurkdjian has only been around since 2009. Founder Francis Kurkdjian however, is a celebrated perfumer who has formulated creations for some of the biggest fashion designers the likes of Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier and Hedi Slimane. Kurkdjian also most recently joined Dior as its perfume creation director in October 2021.
Add to that his recognition as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres — an order of France bestowed by the Minister of Culture — in 2008, there’s no doubt that Kurkdjian’s talent is preceded only by his creations.
To discover the Maison Francis Kurkdjian universe, its first standalone boutique in Singapore has now opened at Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Taking cues from its house codes of purity, sophistication, timelessness, and audacity, the boutique expresses them through the use of contrasting and elegant materials that are consistent with Parisian architecture.
The Maison Francis Kurkdjian monogram (a signifier that’s visible on the top of its perfume bottles) is interpreted in a number of ways — from the K-shaped entrance to the mixed-material display island in the middle of the boutique.

But of course, the understated interiors make way for the maison’s creations to truly shine. The complete Maison Francis Kurkdjian range is available in the boutique. Aside from the aforementioned favourites, there’s the Grand Soir — an ambery scent composed of warm vanilla and tonka beans with a colour that’s reflective of its profile. Or try on the Gentle Fluidity series, a duo of creations that are built around the same ingredients but with two varying results.
Whatever you end up choosing, there’s no denying that a Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrance is unlike any other.
