Migration can be a convoluted process. To simplify it, Nirbhay Handa streamlined the steps into a single platform. Multipolitan allows users to do everything from obtaining visas and residency to setting up a business and managing assets, bypassing typical bureaucratic hurdles.

His vision is to make relocation easier. As it stands, a burgeoning number of people are challenging traditional notions of belonging. For instance, they live in Bali, run a second home in Dubai, and operate businesses in London.

“Whether seeking better economic opportunities, improving the quality of life, or seeking greater security, being able to live and work in multiple countries offers unprecedented freedom,” Handa says.

“Integrating various services into one seamless experience makes global mobility more accessible.”

Although Multipolitan’s services are currently only available through the company’s client advisors, he has his sights set on making them available on a super app. Earlier this year, he secured pre-seed funding from Lee Smith, whose online payment service Paidy was acquired by PayPal for US$2.7 billion (S$3.4 billion) in 2021. Digital technology, Handa explains, will make the services more uniform and enhance their scalability.

Engineering a complex platform with a user-friendly system that pares down the number of hoops people have to jump through, however, has been challenging. Fortunately, Smith, also a co-founder of Multipolitan, brings product development experience. Handa and a third co-founder, Sandeep Jain, bring immigration and government advisory expertise.

A common misconception about Multipolitan is that it caters to only wealthy individuals. Handa clarifies that this is not true. “The platform is aimed at people who value global mobility, whether they are ‘established’ or ‘aspiring’. Our mission is to make global living accessible to everyone.”
