Last month, I enjoyed The Perfecting Pedicure by Margaret Dabbs at St. Regis Spa Singapore. As I write this, my toenails look so shiny and healthy.
This was not a regular pedicure. It combines the medical science of Margaret Dabbs London’s podiatry expertise with the relaxation of a beauty pedicure for a results-based treatment.
Coinciding with its design refresh, St. Regis Spa Singapore staged the launch of the Foothealth Studio by Margaret Dabbs London. One of the foremost experts in podiatry, Dabbs has had a circuitous journey into the industry.

Making the transition from podiatry to luxurious foot treatments was a natural one. She identified a gap in the market for medically credible foot treatments that also beautify. “Traditionally, a podiatrist would treat foot ailments and a pedicurist would beautify feet. I developed treatment protocols that combined the two,” she says.
At her foot clinic, patients often asked her for recommendations for products that treat common foot complaints, including hard skin, dry skin, fissures, and cracks.
Consequently, this sparked an interest in developing remedies that solved problems by sourcing ingredients from all over the world.
“I was approached by department stores, including Harrods, to launch these products. However, they faced a huge dilemma: where did foot care products go within the beauty arena? Fifteen years on, you won’t see a luxury beauty retailer without Margaret Dabbs London products,” she says with pride.

St. Regis Spa Singpore approached her as well. After hearing about her brand and the efficacy of the treatments, it wanted to elevate its foot, hand, and leg services.
According to Dabbs, The Perfecting Pedicure is unbeatable. A foot health practitioner gently sloughs dead skin off the feet and then cleans, trims, and buffs each toenail to shiny perfection. It’s a relaxing process. “The feet are transformed and the nails look like new, with that walking-on-air feeling,” Dabbs muses.
For healthy nails, she recommends a professional pedicure every three to four weeks and a manicure every 10 to 14 days. She even emphasises that men should try these treatments, too. A dedicated foot cream is also an excellent addition to one’s beauty routine. It keeps the skin soft and prevents hard skin from building up.
“The skin on your feet is 12 times thicker than the rest of the body. This means regular beauty products will not work as effectively,” Dabbs explains.
