The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection has garnered significant attention in the world of haute horlogerie recently. This surge in popularity is largely attributed to the impressive examples of complicated and daring pieces swiftly incorporated into the collection by the watchmaker, such as the Starwheel and the Ultra-Complication Universelle RD#4 that was unveiled a few months ago by the Swiss fine watchmaker. With the introduction of a new 38mm case, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet will now appeal to those with smaller wrists.
The new 38mm model incorporates all the intricate architectural details of the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet case. To reach this new case size, the Manufacture’s designers and engineers thoughtfully reengineered the octagonal case middle, the extra-thin bezel, lugs and round caseback to preserve all the intricate architectural details of the original Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet case.
Audemars Piguet was also careful to integrate features from the collection’s recent design evolution, such as the shallower yet more pronounced indentations on the crown. As for the lugs, the upper part is soldered to the extra-thin bezel while the bottom part lays in perfect alignment against the caseback.
In line with the stainless steel 41 mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet watches released at the beginning of the year, the 38mm model bears a dial design that was developed in collaboration with Swiss guilloché artist Yann von Kaenel. It showcases an embossed pattern that creates a visually stunning sense of depth and gradient.
The watch is available in pink gold with two dial options. The first option presents a regal purple dial, while the other one offers a more understated ivory dial. Both colours are applied using the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) technique, which explains the vivid appearance and adds to the dial’s visual depth.

Turning the timepiece over reveals the self-winding calibre 5900 through the sapphire crystal caseback, complete with its 22k pink gold oscillating weight along with the refined decorations adorning the components, such as the polished angles, vertical satin brushing, Côtes de Genève, circular graining and chamfering. Operating at 4Hz and boasting a power reserve of 60 hours, this movement is Audemars Piguet’s latest selfwinding hour, minute, seconds and date movement.
Audemars Piguet designed the 38mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet with smaller wrist sizes in mind. This follows the growing trend among watch collectors who prefer more classic case sizes, typically falling within the 38mm to 40mm range. By this definition, the 38mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet is set to become the preferred choice not only for those with smaller wrists but also for discerning connoisseurs who may have previously overlooked the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection, until now.
