Longchamp Saint-Tropez K. Jacques Sandals

School’s out for spring break, and at Longchamp University, the students always remain sartorially forward even on vacation. The Parisian fashion house unveils its latest collection inspired by those on vacation at Saint-Tropez. The name for the campaign “Do You Saint-Tropez” is apt, as it celebrates freedom, sunshine, and glamour chic.

Artistic director Sophie Delafontaine explains, “Just as the Parisienne has that little je ne sais quoi, the Saint-Tropez girl also has an indefinable charm born of the region’s gentle way of life. I imagine liberated, joyful women strolling around barefoot with a basket.”

Naturally, there are baskets, lots of them. There is a Le Panier Pliage woven from palm leaves, and a Le Pliage Filet with crochet-style daisies. Both are colourful, playful, and perfect for the sand and sea. When she’s strolling in the Saint-Tropez streets though, she opts for the baguette-sized Roseau bags or the Épure bucket bag, perfect for getting ice cream on the go or evening cocktails.

Spring is also the perfect time to shed the heavy coats and put on the fun, flirty items. There are upcycled shorts and bras, and loose macramé dresses. Cool down when the mercury rises by taking a dip in the French Riviera in swimsuits highlighted with the famous bamboo.

Oh, and forget shoes. Saint-Tropez demands sandals, and the new Longchamp collection has just the pair: a collaboration with French sandal maker K. Jacques. Founded 90 years ago in Saint-Tropez, the brand was the perfect partner for Longchamp. “For a start, we have both been awarded Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) status. Although we operate on different scales, we share the same ethos and the same commitment to quality, and we are both still family businesses,” says Bernard Keklikian, the CEO of K. Jacques.

The celebrated flat sandals are infused with the Le Pliage codes. These include the wide rounded ankle strap and the signature press-stud embellishments. They’re available in three colours and embody the Saint-Tropez vibe perfectly.
