Let’s just get it out of the way: a night at Capella Manor costs $30,000. But that’s a small price to pay for luxury and superlative comfort. Exclusivity, too, as there is only one Capella Manor at Capella Singapore.
Now is the best time to book yourself a stay as the property recently underwent refurbishment by interior decorator Simone Haag, who added bespoke furnishings, including Asian-inspired fabrics, artwork, and lighting. Arranged across two floors with three ensuite bedrooms, living and dining areas, and an outdoor terrace with a lap pool, the 576sqm manor is a capacious retreat. A rainforest rimming the perimeter guarantees seclusion.
For something comparatively keenly priced, there is the Colonial Manor, which costs $25,000 a night. There are two Colonial Manors at Capella Singapore, both of which have also been revamped. Matthew Shang Design Office’s (Manhattan Bar, Hamamoto) played up the elegant appeal of these properties by including elements such as handknotted Persian rugs, Roman blinds, and spherical lighting.
Although smaller at 500 sq m, both also feature three ensuite bedrooms, a living and dining area, and an outdoor terrace with a pool. They are much closer in proximity to the hotel lobby, but given the provision of buggy service, it can’t be said that one manor is harder to get to than the other.
You might be wondering who checks into these lavish accommodations. Intergenerational families coming together for special occasions, perhaps? Samantha Wong, Director of Marketing Communications, lets on that while big groups come by, couples sometimes book a property just for a change of scenery.
If this isn’t a sign that you don’t have to wait until you’re throwing a party to enjoy a stay at these manors, we don’t know what is. Can’t leave town but need a getaway? You know where to go.
