The National Museum of Singapore and a+ held an open call for donations of contemporary men’s fashion items. The selected donations will be accessioned into the National Collection and displayed in relevant exhibitions, installations, and programmes or used for research purposes.
The first-ever collaboration came about from a shared vision for more menswear to be represented in the fashion realm. This is also part of the museum’s efforts to update its fashion collection with relevant pieces from 21st century.
An exclusive one-off event was held in late October in appreciation to the donors’ support. Some of the selected pieces were then interwoven (for one night only) into the National Museum of Singapore’s exhibition, OFF / ON: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s – 2000s. Guests were given a private viewing of the exhibition and one-off setup, with a curator explaining the stories behind some of the fashion pieces.
Counting down to the upcoming White Collar Boxing Show at the end of November to be held at Marquee, The Ring hosted an exclusive networking and community event. The Face Off was held at Mandala Club to introduce the amateur boxers as well as showcase the event’s sponsors and partners. Participants were specially ferried to Mandala Club in Maserati vehicles — MC20, Levante GT 2.0 litre Hybrid and Levante 3.0 litre V6. Highlights included an auction to raise funds for the Halogen Foundation Singapore and guests were given a chance to test their punching skills in hopes of winning tickets to the main event or a club membership.
Turning its attention to the ocean, the 2022 edition of Ball in Monaco was graced by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. The gala event raised more than $2 million through an auction that included unique timepieces by F.P. Journe, exquisite jewellery by Faidee, bespoke gowns and shopping experiences by Anne Fontaine, hotel stays by the Four Seasons Resorts, and many more.
Guests dressed in their finest couture gowns and spiffy tuxedos were treated to a menu specially curated by Chef Daniel Boulud, with a chocolate dessert pairing selections with Martell XXO.
