Despite market saturation in corporate interior design, ID Integrated (IDI) continues to thrive through two practices. First, it transforms workspaces by optimising functionality and efficiency. Second, it is people-oriented. “We prioritise relationships with clients and deliver service from the heart,” says founder Teddy Sun, a trained architect with over 20 years of experience in project management.

Since its founding in 2016, IDI has grown from a team of two in a Woodlands office to 80 employees across Singapore, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Kuala Lumpur. Of its 300 projects so far, Campari’s regional office in Singapore holds a special place in Sun’s heart. It involved creating an event space with a bar as the focal point.

In his opinion, the endeavour exemplified creative space planning and functional design, which is why IDI won the pitch despite competing against established industry names. The firm also won the A’ Design Award and Competition 2020/2021 for this. “That validated our design skills and showcased our ability to surpass clients’ expectations,” he affirms.

With hybrid work arrangements the norm in a post-pandemic world, Sun believes modern offices must be designed around people. This means spatial configurations that encourage both collaborative and independent work.

Integration of technology and modularity of spaces are also important. “Today, even large corporations cannot afford to waste space with one-to-one desk set-ups,” he explains.

“Offices must continue evolving to meet people’s needs while still making business sense in terms of mid- to longterm investment.”
