Louis Vuitton is putting all the stops for its upcoming runway show in Seoul, South Korea. For starters, the pre-autumn 2023 womenswear runway show will be situated on the Jamsugyo Bridge in central Seoul. The bridge crosses the Han River and is constructed such that parts of it submerges during periods of high rainfall.
In one of many instances of cultural exchanges between Louis Vuitton and South Korea, the show will also see a collaboration with film director Hwang Dong-Hyuk. Known for his work on global phenomenon Squid Game, Hwang is the show’s creative advisor responsible for the show’s scenography.
There’s no doubt that the Louis Vuitton pre-autumn 2023 womenswear runway show will be attended by friends of the house, especially its ever-expanding line-up of collaborators the likes of K-pop idols and Korean actors and actresses. But aside from the celebrities, Louis Vuitton has extended 100 invitations to fashion students so that they’re able to experience the show up close too.
Louis Vuitton has also signed a strategic partnership agreement with Seoul Metropolitan City and the Korea Tourism Organization. This means that more cultural exchanges are set to take place in South Korea as overseen by Louis Vuitton, as well as the promotion and preservation of the former’s natural landscapes.
