The second coming
When the LV Archlight sneakers were first released in 2018, they were another entrant to a prevailing trend of chunky sneakers. Yet, the design of the LV Archlight was intentionally futuristic as opposed to its more throwback contemporaries. Its distinct curved and thick rubber outsole and overall oversized proportions were unlike anything we’ve seen before from Louis Vuitton.
As a celebration of five years since its introduction to the world, the maison brings forth LV Archlight 2.0 to elevate the design in more ways than one. While still retaining the sneakers’ dominant shape, the LV Archlight 2.0 is now available in a range of materials including raffia and guipure lace in a multitude of colours. But what’s exciting is how the silhouette is no longer just sneakers—the LV Archlight has been transformed into desert boots and a moccasin-style slip-on both fitted with the same signature outsole.
Burberry of yore
Before newly appointed chief creative officer Daniel Lee’s debut autumn/winter 2023 collection arrives in boutiques later this year, Burberry is doubling down on its storied heritage with a new book. Simply titled ‘Burberry’, the 252-page tome consists of five chapters and 200 illustrations charting down the British brand’s evolution from a family-run company in 1856 to a global brand in 2022. The iconic Burberry trench coat is featured on its slipcase while the book itself is bound in linen printed with the Burberry check.
Taking it forward
The Coach Tabby was stripped from the brand’s 1970s archives and reimagined to be one of its signature styles since 2019. With the latest “In My Tabby” campaign, Coach enlists the help of members of its Coach Family—Japanese model Kōki, actresses Camila Mendes and Wu JinYan, and musician Lil Nas X—to tell stories of individuality and self-expression. The campaign riffs on the “What’s In My Bag” social media phenomenon by replacing material objects with the intangible experiences and memories that have shaped each subject.
Coach has also partnered up with AR fashion platform Zero10 on a series of Coach Tabby digital wearables as part of a metaverse experience created for Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week 2023.
