It seems as though things are moving at lightning speed for Louis Vuitton. It was only three weeks ago that the maison travelled to Seoul for its first-ever runway show in the South Korean capital. And now, it’s readying its cruise 2024 womenswear runway show held at Isola Bella.
A popular tourist spot located in North Italy’s Lake Maggiore, Isola Bella is an island that’s home to the annual Stresa Festival—a music festival featuring classical and jazz acts—as well as one of the most renowned examples of Italian Baroque style. Louis Vuitton will be the first to stage a fashion show on the island.
There’s little doubt that artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière will tap on the island’s Italian Baroque sensibilities for the collection, but exactly how that will look like, remains to be seen. If we’ve learnt anything about Ghesquière’s work for the maison, it’ll definitely be something unexpected.
