In 1998, the Bvlgari Aluminium made waves in the watch world with its unprecedented combination of aluminium and rubber, topped off with sporty yet sophisticated looks. This timepiece, characterised by huge lashings of unabashed Italian flair, a bold bezel and the now-iconic 14-letter Bvlgari Bvlgari signature, set a new standard in contemporary luxury.
Fast forward to 2020, the Italian jeweller revived the emblematic watch with an automatic mechanical movement, earning accolades at the GPHG 2020 and Red Dot Best of the Best 2023 for its timeless design. This year, the house redefines the watch’s versatile allure again with three new 40-mm references.

Bvlgari Aluminium Black GMT
The first Bvlgari Aluminium made a bold statement with its unique combination of materials and a graphic, contrasting design. The 2020 reissue stayed true to its predecessor’s avant-garde blend, featuring aerospace-grade aluminium alloy and durable FKM rubber. In 2021, the range was enriched with a GMT variant in blue, enhancing its appeal to avid travellers by enabling dual time-zone tracking. This function was a hat-tip to the watch’s original launch year, when its imagery graced the fuselage of a transcontinental Alitalia Boeing 747.

This year’s Bvlgari Aluminium Black GMT returns to its roots with a striking visual identity: a white dial contrasting against a black bezel and rubber strap. For effortless time reading, the GMT function is red for daytime hours and black during the night. The secondary hour hand features a white arrow trimmed in red, while hands and markers coated in Super-LumiNova guarantee excellent low-light visibility.
Local time and time zones can be set with the crown, while the date displays at
3 o’clock.

Bvlgari Aluminium Chronograph Smeraldo
Following the limited Capri editions from 2023, the spirit of la dolce vita continues well into summer this year with the 1,000-piece Bvlgari Aluminium Chronograph Smeraldo. By extending the Italian seaside holiday narrative, it’s an invitation to wearers to take a metaphorical plunge into the blue Sardinian sea.
Flaunting a dial that progresses from white to turquoise to green, the watch is topped off with a deep green rubber bezel and strap. Adding to its summery vibrance and elegance are green chronograph counters, dark green hands, and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.
Driving the Bvlgari Aluminium Chronograph Smeraldo is the automatic B130 mechanical movement with chronograph and date functions. Its intuitive start/stop and reset pushers ensure precise timing, while the titanium caseback sports an intricate Rosa dei Venti (antique compass rose) engraving that encapsulates the essence of an Italian summer. Even the watch’s presentation box exudes playfulness and sophistication as it echoes the shimmery green tones of the ocean.

Bvlgari Aluminium White Automatic
In stark white, the Bvlgari Aluminium White Automatic is a fresh take on the usually black icon. Oozing invigorating energy and boldness, the striking watch boasts a bezel emblazoned with the iconic 14-letter signature beloved by fans. This detail pays tribute to the brand’s bold move in 1977, when it introduced its first Bvlgari Bvlgari timepiece with the emblematic circular inscription inspired by ancient Roman coins stamped with the emperor’s name.

Its aluminium dial flaunts rhodium-plated indexes and hands highlighted with Super-LumiNova for brilliance, while the date display at 3 o’clock blends functionality with aesthetic balance. Also a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, this model’s gender-neutral appeal, high-tech materials, and elegant design showcase the watch’s bold, graphic lines in a refreshing new light.
