You’ve conceptualised the look of your new bathroom or powder room — a theme that’s perhaps different from the rest of the home — down to the colour scheme you’ve always wanted. If you’re not one to fuss with the smallest details, you’re fine with a faucet that blends in rather nicely with the rest of the interior. And that typically means one in steel, black, or even a gold finish.
But what if we told you that you don’t have to be restricted to those safe options?
The AXOR One Colors series offers six iterations to choose from. Modelled after the AXOR One — a collection that made its debut in 2021 — the new coloured extension is conceived by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, founders of London-based industrial design studio Barber Osgerby.
“Each colour balances the ability to become part of a calm visual field with limitless scope for self-expression and individuality, reflecting the way in which bathrooms and small cloakrooms are increasingly becoming places that are less about neutral utility and more about original and impactful design. We chose the colours to complement the widest range of bathroom finishes, from enamel and concrete, to marble and wood,” the designers explain.
The genius is in the choice of colours. Because they’re derived from naturally occurring interactions between light, colour and water, the colours in the AXOR One Colors are not artificially saturated. Even with the glossy finish, the tones are versatile enough to adapt to the design of the space — not purely a statement piece of furnishing but can be one should you’re inclined to have it as such.
The more subtle of the six colours are Stone, Shell, and Sand. Each would make for an excellent addition to any monochromatic design scheme with its cool tones lending a sense of lightness to a space.
For more visual impact, choose between Aquamarine, Coral, or Ice. The more direct translations of the different colours of water, they’re the punchier of the lot but done with such masterful restraint that they won’t overpower a space.
Aside from the new colours, the AXOR One Colors series retains the original silhouette of the AXOR One. With minimal indentations and flourishes, the faucet is thoughtfully designed to make cleaning and maintaining its look fuss-free.
