Offering a unique window into Thailand’s dynamic capital, Andaz One Bangkok is located on the historic Wireless Road, named after Thailand’s first radio telegraph station built in the 1920s.

Just steps away from the lush greenery of Lumphini Park, it seamlessly integrates urban energy into a serene, mid-century-inspired ambience, thanks to Bangkok-based Interiors by PIA. Picture Thai window grilles and architectural curves that reflect that era with modern touches that will leave you wanting to return again and again. The property celebrates its prime location by drawing inspiration from Wireless Road’s distinctive character and weaving it throughout the guest experience that begins in the lobby that feels both impressive and inviting, like a home away from home.

Guests are welcomed with art by prominent contemporary female artists, whose works are displayed in the lobby and throughout the hotel. Infusing modern design with cultural significance, the curated pieces create an immersive experience that connects guests to the city’s essence. At the hotel entrance, ceramic artist Khun Pim Sudhikam’s ‘Apocrypha Scripta’ (2025) serves as an introspective ode to Bangkok. Her sculptural clay forms typically convey hidden blessings. Other notables include Khun Pinaree Sanpitak’s ‘Pocket of Nature’ (2024-2025) in the arrival hall on the first level. Known as Eye, her installation features a wall of wooden shelves with dried flowers, photos, and objects, creating the feeling of entering a home or someone’s study. In the main lobby, Ploenchan (Mook) Vinyaratn’s vibrant, handtufted carpet mural created from upcycled yarns reflects the hotel’s energy and is the first thing you see when the lift doors open.

The rest of my stay was just as welcoming, and I wished I had more time there. In my room, modern conveniences like a coffee machine, high-speed Wi-Fi, and Byredo bath amenities blended seamlessly with a calming, timeless aesthetic brought to life through warm colours and the tactile feel of materials such as wood and stone.

Dining at Andaz One Bangkok reflects the city’s cosmopolitan energy. Jing serves authentic Chinese cuisine in a casual all-day setting, dishing out dim sum, soups, steamed fish, and other delights. Leaning towards Cantonese flavours, the menu emphasises clean, balanced dishes that showcase the ingredients.

Andaz Terrace invites guests to unwind at its outdoor terrace or in the expansive, lightfilled lobby. In addition to afternoon tea and Asian-inspired bites, it is a great spot for a quick catch-up, but I rather enjoyed sipping wine while enjoying the sweeping sunset views over Lumphini Park. There’s something uniquely calming about watching the sun slip below the horizon.

At Piscari, diners are transported to the Mediterranean. The seafood-focused menu features grilled prawns, fish, ceviche, and vibrant seafood towers bursting with bright, fresh flavours. Then as night falls, a DJ sets the rhythm and a hidden speakeasy adds a playful end to the evening. Beyond the hotel’s walls, Wireless Road beckons exploration. Home to embassies, upscale residences, and a thriving arts scene, this enclave offers a glimpse into Bangkok’s more refined, cosmopolitan side. Guests can wander the tree-lined streets, duck into hidden galleries and cafes, or simply soak in the neighbourhood’s vibrant energy.

By integrating the Wireless Road neighbourhood into the guest experience, Andaz One Bangkok offers an authentic city encounter. It’s a destination that provides travellers with the opportunity to connect with Bangkok’s unique personality and heritage instead of just visiting. Whether relaxing by the infinity pool or indulging in globally inspired cuisine, it’s impossible not to feel inspired by the hotel’s design and the pulse of the city.
