On 9 July, the Chinese Women’s Association hosted a flower arrangement workshop at the Holiday Inn. Using preserved flowers, the workshop displayed the art of arranging flowers while promoting sustainability in the flower and plant industry.
Guests-of- honour His Excellency Manuel Solano, who is the Colombian Ambassador to Singapore, and Mrs Young Sil Seo attended the event.
The flowers used were harvested from the farms at the Guirnaldas centre in Colombia, where they are meticulously preserved through non-toxic processes that use natural liquids. Lasting for months or even years, these preserved flowers produce less organic waste and do not need light or water, making them eco-friendly alternatives to single-use fresh blooms.
