The Tough Get Going
For its sixth anniversary last November, MUS Zenith Affair rallied its community of friends, partners, and donors to support its Give While You Get campaign. Founder Esther Ho hosted a charity dinner at the Raffles Singapore, which raised $370,000 for SHINE Children and Youth Services’ ResiL!ence programmes that promote mental health of youths. “Young people face immense pressures today, often silently. If we can reduce that burden even a little, then every effort is worth it,” shared Ho. Guests enjoyed performances by Jillian Summers, Gabriel Hoe, and Charis Chen, as well as a live auction featuring new and pre-loved jewellery.
Soul Sensations
The Jazzy Jubilee – Gala of Celebrations was held at Shangri-La Singapore in November, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Jazz Association (Singapore) and the 65th birthday of Jeremy “King of Swing” Monteiro, who has led the organisation for nearly five decades. The Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra, Alemay Fernandez, Nick Zavior, Louis Soliano, and other musicians performed for the guests. Edwin Tong, Minister of Law and Second Minister of Home Affairs, who also attended the event, said, “You will see this special community, people from all walks of life coming together to support Jazz Association, because we believe that jazz music, the arts, must thrive and grow in Singapore.” Let’s dance to that.
All In Good Time
a+ friends gathered last November in the Grand Seiko Salon at the Watches of Switzerland boutique at Jewel Changi Airport to celebrate Japanese watchmaking. In addition to exploring the brand’s cutting-edge technology and nature-inspired design language, guests marvelled up close at the impeccable details that define Grand Seiko’s craftsmanship. See what you missed.
