H. Moser & Cie. is marking Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th anniversary with the unveiling of its brand-new Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. Established in 1954 and headquartered in Singapore, Sincere Fine Watches has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s leading luxury watch retailers. The company operates 20 boutiques across Asia, offering an impressive selection of more than 40 prestigious watch brands, including H. Moser & Cie.

As part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, it is reaffirming its dedication to horological education and appreciation with the launch of The Horology Lab. This evolution of the former Sincere Watch Academy transcends traditional retail by fostering a deeper understanding of the art of horology.

The programme offers a comprehensive schedule of educational events organised around three main pillars: the Experiential Atelier, which provides hands-on workshops with expert watchmakers; Fireside Chats, featuring discussions with industry leaders on topics such as iconic timepieces and market trends; and Horology Narrative, a series of lectures exploring themes like astronomy, the history of timekeeping, and watch complications.

The H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is one of 12 limited edition Platinum Jubilee timepieces released by Sincere Fine Watches to commemorate this special occasion. The collection also features the Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Astral Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition and the Chopard Happy Sport The First Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition.

True to H. Moser & Cie.’s signature style, the watch combines traditional watchmaking codes with contemporary design. The 42.8 mm case features the brand’s sporty yet elegant Pioneer-case styling, crafted in red gold with black DLC-treated titanium inserts for added robustness and visual contrast.

The most striking feature of this timepiece is undoubtedly its dial. The Grand Feu purple fumé enamel dial marks a first for H. Moser & Cie.’s Pioneer collection. This intricate process begins with a precise pattern engraved onto a gold dial. Enamelling powder pigments are then meticulously applied and fired in a furnace at controlled temperatures. This firing process is done 10 to 12 times, and for each colour used, the entire process is repeated, culminating in a final, glassy, translucent enamel dial.

Attaining H. Moser & Cie.’s fumé enamel dial adds a further layer of complexity. This dial requires not just multiple colours but a seamless blending of these hues into an organic gradient, creating the signature fumé, or smoked, effect. This complexity means that each dial is unique; no two Grand Feu enamel dials can ever be identical, adding a unique allure for collectors.

To enhance the dial’s prominence, the hour markers, branding and other superfluous details have been omitted. Even the leap year indicator is placed on the movement side. The timepiece features skeletonised leaf-shaped hands filled with Super-LumiNova for the hours and minutes, complemented by simpler hands for the running seconds at 6 o’clock and the power-reserve indicator at 9 o’clock.

The perpetual calendar complication, a hallmark of H. Moser & Cie.’s celebrated HMC 808 hand-wound manufacture movement, showcases an ingenious perpetual calendar complication with large, easily legible month and date windows at 3 o’clock. This design is augmented by H. Moser & Cie.’s innovative “Flash Calendar” function, which allows for an instantaneous date change at midnight. The date can also be adjusted forwards or backwards at any time of day without risking damage to the movement, exemplifying the brand’s commitment to both precision and user-friendly functionality.

The HMC 808, equipped with a power reserve of at least seven days thanks to its double barrel design, represents a novel take on a centuries-old complication. It combines traditional craftsmanship, reliability, and precision with innovative design.

Seventy years of cultivating and nurturing appreciation for the art of horology in Southeast Asia is no small feat. In recognition of Sincere Fine Watches’ unwavering commitment to this cause, H. Moser & Cie. will produce just 20 exclusive pieces of the Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. This limited edition stands as a testament to the rarity and significance of the occasion.

The H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is retailing at $130, 000 and available for purchase at all Sincere Fine Watches boutiques.
