Chopard’s iconic Happy Diamonds creations have been a symbol of happiness since 1976, featuring floating precious gemstones encased between sapphire glass crystals. In 1993, Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s co-president, expanded on this idea by introducing the Happy Sport watch. This innovative concept enables diamonds to move freely without scratching the dial and crystal, signifying a departure from traditional watchmaking aesthetics. The Happy Sport, one of the first watches to combine diamonds with a stainless-steel case, has become a hallmark of Chopard’s identity.

Since its debut, the Happy Sport has been reinterpreted in numerous breathtaking variants, showcasing Chopard’s commitment to evolving the collection while retaining its original charm.

This year, to celebrate Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th anniversary, Chopard unveils the breathtaking Happy Sport The First Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. Limited to just 30 pieces, this exclusive timepiece honours a significant milestone for the renowned retailer.

Founded in 1954, Sincere Fine Watches has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s premier luxury watch retailers. As part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, it is reaffirming its dedication to horological education and appreciation with the launch of The Horology Lab. Running until November, this evolution of the former Sincere Watch Academy transcends traditional retail by fostering a deeper understanding of the art of horology.

It offers a comprehensive schedule of educational events organised around three main pillars: the Experiential Atelier, which provides hands-on workshops with expert watchmakers; Fireside Chats, featuring discussions with industry leaders on topics such as iconic timepieces and market trends; and a series of lectures exploring themes like astronomy, the history of timekeeping, and watch complications.

Additionally, Sincere Fine Watches will release a series of 12 limited edition Sincere Platinum Jubilee Editions, starting with the Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Astral Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition, and now, the Chopard Happy Sport The First Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition.

The Chopard Happy Sport The First Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition recalls the elegant design codes of the original 1993 model, featuring a stainless steel and diamonds pairing, a pebble link bracelet, and seven diamonds swirling gracefully above the dial. These diamonds now serve as a sparkling tribute to Sincere’s longstanding heritage, adding a sense of joy to the watch.

For the first time, a burgundy-red dial appears on a Happy Sport watch, symbolising Sincere’s passionate commitment to fostering and growing an appreciation of horology. From the side profile, five cabochon-cut red sapphires—an unusual touch—are set on the lugs and crown, perfectly complementing the dial.

The watch features a 33mm diameter case based on the principles of the golden ratio, while its supple “pebble link” bracelet wraps fluidly around the wrist. Both are made from Lucent Steel, Chopard’s lustrous and anti-allergenic steel alloy that is 50 percent harder than other steels. Chopard has equipped the watch with the manufacture Chopard 09.01-C movement, a self-winding movement that beats at 3.5Hz and has a power reserve of 42 hours.

Comprising 148 components, the movement is decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes on the rotor and bridges, while the main plate features circular graining. These exquisite watches are not merely timepieces; they are dazzling complements to the passage of time.

For over 30 years, the dancing diamonds in the Happy Sport watch collection have transformed women’s relationship with their timepieces. They are a joyful expression of freedom and elegance, embodying the spirit of the modern, confident woman who values both luxury and playfulness in her style. From the original model with seven diamonds between two sapphire crystals to versions featuring gem-encrusted lucky charms that move across the dial, each watch is a glittering symbol of Chopard’s creativity and technical expertise.

The Chopard Happy Sport The First Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is retailing at $18,300 and available for purchase at all Sincere Fine Watches boutiques.
