Our romance with red lipstick stretches back more than 4,000 years ago—as archaeologists recently discovered among artefacts from the Jiroft civilisation in ancient Iran. Inside tiny, intricately crafted vials were trace pigments of vegetal wax and powdered minerals many believed were the earliest lipsticks.
This love affair continues into fall/winter 2024 for the Christmas festivities, so we can expect to be spoilt by a variety of reds.
Whether you’re fighting for women’s rights, fighting fascism, fighting (economic) depression, fighting for a spot under the mistletoe, or simply fighting for a little flash of colour, there is always a reason to wear red lipstick.
