Skincare aficionados can now indulge in the healing rituals of Hungarian heritage house Omorovicza (rhymes with “pizza”) at Raffles Spa. Known for its mineral-rich formulations, the brand was founded in 2006 by Stephen de Heinrich de Omorovicza and his wife Margaret.
His family’s legacy includes establishing Budapest’s Rácz Fürdő thermal bath. Built by an ancestor in 1861 for public use, it was renowned for the healing properties of its mineral-rich waters, traditionally believed to alleviate joint problems, respiratory issues, skin conditions, and circulation.
Omorovicza was built on that heritage and on Margaret’s experience at the spring baths. With every visit, her troubled, acne-prone skin gradually improved. “From the start, our vision was to translate the Hungarian philosophy of healing through water into modern skincare that genuinely supports skin health and is backed by science rather than storytelling alone,” he says.
Budapest, he continues, sits on unique geology that produces thermal waters. Travelling deep underground, these waters absorb up to 26 naturally occurring minerals—such as iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium, which are long valued for their restorative properties—before resurfacing.
“This naturally occurring elixir also regenerates skin by boosting levels of hydration, oxygenation, and proteins such as collagen, thanks to anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.”
Omorovicza’s partnership with Raffles Spa was a natural fit. “Both houses value heritage and thoughtfully curated experiences that prioritise well-being over trends. In addition to Singapore being a highly discerning, globally minded and sophisticated market, customers here also appreciate quality and credibility,” he notes.
Omorovicza’s formulations feature its patented Healing Concentrate, developed through the biofermentation of minerals from Budapest’s thermal waters, which helps to deliver these nutrients more effectively to the skin.

“Our skincare is clinically proven to support core markers of skin health, including hydration, firmness, elasticity and barrier strength,” he quips.
At Raffles Spa, treatments are tailored to individual needs and preferences, and combined with Omorovicza’s signature Hungarian massage techniques. The facial massage is a rhythmic, lifting technique derived from Budapest’s ancient thermal spa culture. Through tapping and pinching strokes, it boosts microcirculation, relieves jaw tension, and stimulates facial muscles to improve skin tone as it firms and sculpts.
Facial therapies include the Mineral Purity Facial, Elixir Power Facial, and Blue Diamond Performance Facial. For first-timers like me, Omorovicza recommended the Elixir Power Facial, to improve skin health, restore structure, and enhance radiance.
My Elixir Power Facial was customised for my combination skin, which had been looking dull. The therapist introduced Blue Diamond Resurfacing Peel, which contains Blue Diamond Peptides and Healing Concentrate, to refine the texture without irritating it.
This was followed by the Deep Cleansing Mask with Hungarian Moor Mud to nourish my skin with minerals. As a final step, Omorovicza’s signature Hungarian Facial Massage toned, lifted, and released tension, leaving my skin revitalised and glowing.
Omorovicza also offers signature spa journeys for the body and face, including the Omorovicza Golden Spa Ritual and Omorovicza Queen Ritual. The former is a 120-minute gold-infused experience to restore strength and radiance with Gold Sugar Scrub, Gold Shimmer Oil, and the Gold Hydralifting Facial.
The Omorovicza Queen Ritual is ideal for dry, dehydrated, or mature skin. With Queen Cleanser, Queen Essence, Queen Cream, and Queen Oil, it hydrates, enhances suppleness, and protects the skin barrier.
Marrying cutting-edge, clinically proven formulations with time-honoured spa traditions, Omorovicza transforms skincare into rituals of renewal. After one session, I can hardly wait for a second.
