The surge in pet-friendly hotels reflects growing demand and the willingness to splurge. To cater to this increasingly lucrative market, Mett Singapore recently introduced Paws at Mett, a staycation package for guests and their pets. The hotel opened in Fort Canning Park last year.
Welcoming pets wasn’t an afterthought. If anything, it was baked into the hotel’s DNA from the outset. “Pets have a way of bringing people together,” says Marcel Li, General Manager. “They spark conversations between guests and bring joy to our team as well.”
With sprawling lawns and walking trails just a stone’s throw away, the hotel’s location made the decision easy. “The surroundings naturally lend themselves to shared experiences with pets, so embracing a pet- friendly concept felt natural.”
The Paws at Mett package is available when booking the Premier Junior Suite, Park View Suite, Fort Canning Suite, and Mett Suite. Guests enjoy daily breakfast, access to all facilities, and welcome amenities from design-led pet lifestyle brand Vetreska and premium essentials retailer Woof Living.
The welcome kit was designed with practicality in mind. “We didn’t want to include novelty items for the sake of it. Since many of us, including myself, have dogs, we selected products we trust and use ourselves,” Li explains. Guests will also receive a polaroid photo of themselves and their pets as a keepsake.
For the comfort of all guests, dogs are allowed only in the al fresco dining areas of L’Amo Bistro del Mare and the Canning Bar & Lounge. The hotel is currently working on introducing pet snacks. Until it launches a dedicated menu, owners must pack their pet’s food along.
More pet-friendly experiences are also on the horizon, including a curated walking guide around Fort Canning Park and a partnership with a nearby grooming salon offering exclusive privileges to guests.
“As more people travel with their pets, we’ll keep finding thoughtful ways to enhance the experience,” Li says. “From carefully chosen amenities to local collaborations and exclusive activities, we want every stay to be memorable for both our four-legged guests and their owners.”
