Look out for a new doubles team that will dominate the clay courts and win the hearts of jewellery lovers this French Open. For the first time, French jeweller Fred has partnered with Roland-Garros to produce a capsule Force 10 collection that reflects the colours of the Grand Slam tournament.
Created in 1966, Fred’s emblematic Force 10 bracelets are the ultimate expression of sporty chic unisex jewellery. With their anchor-shaped clasps and rugged corded bracelets woven by the same manufacturers as marine cables, they were the status symbol of the jet-setting 1960s crowd.

Although the pairing between a jeweller and a tennis tournament is interesting, the two are connected by shared values and heritage. Eponymous founder Fred Samuel and French aviator Roland Garros (whom the Grand Slam title is named after) were pioneers with an avid sense of adventure, a competitive spirit and a passion for life. These same traits also resonate with the elite athletes competing in a tournament equally known for its toughness and glamour.
Comprising two newly designed Force 10 buckles and a bracelet, the jewels are inspired by the burnished clay courts, crisp white lines delineating the courts, and the sandy shades of the spectators’ Panama hats. The piece de resistance is a newly designed yellow gold buckle set with 64 white and yellow diamonds, citrines, yellow sapphires and spessartite garnets. In the other variant, Fred chose the simplicity of a white gold for those who prefer a more restrained approach.
On both designs, a tennis ball motif is engraved on the ball on the side of the buckle. Flip the buckle over to spot a terracotta-hued garnet, a nod to the distinctive shade of the tennis courts, set like a hyphen between the brand name and the contrasting two-tone logo of the Roland-Garros tournament.
The buckles come complete with a terracotta-hued cable, a first for the brand, featuring a tip engraved with the Roland-Garros logo. In addition to being eye-catching and radiant, it complements other white, yellow, and pink gold Force 10 buckles for an even wider range of versatility. To celebrate the first year of the collaboration, Fred has also made a two-tone white and terracotta braided cable in a limited series, that can be attached to the interchangeable Force 10 buckles.
