Fred has always sought the sun and the luck it brings. Founder Fred Samuel, who proudly established his brand as “The Sunshine Jeweller,” saw luck not just as chance but as a mindset: being ready to embrace what each day offers. The new Chance Infinie makes that mindset visible by revisiting the sideways eight—a double loop seen as infinity or the lucky number eight motif—and adding a subtle shift: trailing ribbons that loosen the figure, turning a closed sign into a line in motion.

Across nine new designs—three high jewellery pieces and six fine jewellery creations—the structure remains disciplined. Each features a pear-shaped diamond at its centre, a pointed glint that anchors the loops and provides a focal point. Surrounding pave enhances brilliance, allowing the negative space inside the figure-eight to communicate its elegance.
In high jewellery, a necklace, ring, and a pair of earrings, all forged in white gold, are set with a 0.7-ct pear-shaped diamond. The asymmetrically trailing ribbons mimic their fabric counterparts, providing a clever translation of the ribbon idea into motion.
In the fine jewellery collection, the house adheres to everyday proportions and versatility. Rings, earrings, and pendants, available in white or pink gold, boldly feature the diamond-set signature motif. The finish is deliberately smooth and rounded to catch light, ensuring that the jewels sparkle with every movement.
There is a biographical thread beneath the polish. The sideways eight nods to Samuel’s birth in the eighth month of 1908, a numerological wink that gives the collection a founder’s fingerprint. But the more resonant gesture is conceptual: by splicing the infinity loop with a ribbon’s trailing ends, the house redefines a closed symbol of eternity into an open one of possibility.
Infinity, in this sense, isn’t a static promise; it’s an active verb, reinforced rather than threatened by the looseness of its ties. That aligns with Fred’s self-image: the optimism of maritime light, the belief that luck favours the optimistic, and the idea that adornment should keep pace with the wearer’s day. The new Chance Infinie collection is, indeed, an incremental refresh. It redraws its line and allows a single new element—the ribbon trail—to shoulder the work of renewal.
