In a spellbinding reveal, Chopard unveils this year’s Red Carpet collection, Contes de Fées, featuring high jewellery that pays homage to fairy-tales. It is a mesmerising showcase of Co-President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele’s passion for cinema and the Cannes Film Festival, for which Chopard has been the official partner since 1998. Contes de Fées is a medley of the childhood memories that inspired Scheufele.

Enchanted forests, distant kingdoms, talking animals, and magical creatures come to life in this whimsical 77-piece collection. The creations weave wonder with the majesty of enchanting nature, creating an emotional connection and depth that is truly enthralling.

  • Mushroom-shaped ring in rose gold with diamonds
  • Brooch with lily of the valley motif in ethical yellow and white gold and titanium with tsavorites and diamonds

A particularly notable piece is a sculptural necklace inspired by an oak tree that evokes the grandeur of ancient forests and the timeless strength of nature. Crafted entirely by hand in intertwined ethical rose gold and titanium, this design is a remarkable feat of technical achievement. Four jewellers and gem setters dedicated six months to its creation, resulting in titanium leaves adorned with tsavorites, vibrant flowers with clusters of yellow briolette-cut sapphires, and sculpted tinted titanium acorns.

Complementing it are a mushroom ring and brooch depicting a sprig of lily of the valley. The ring, made from ethical rose gold, features a delicate, finely ribbed cap set with white, orange, cognac, and brown diamonds, all skilfully arranged in a gradient of cut and colour.

  • Ring in ethical white and yellow gold and titanium with a 17.71-ct rubellite, emeralds, rubellites, and diamonds

It captures the magic of fairy rings, where mushrooms are known as fairies’ meeting places, adding a touch of intrigue and enchantment to the piece. Made from a combination of gold and titanium, the brooch showcases the lightness of titanium and its ability to be tinted in various colours through anodisation to perfectly match the colour of surrounding stones.

A long, multi-coloured sautoir necklace features a pendant with a bejewelled rose frozen in a pristine 88.96-ct rock crystal heart as a tribute to plant life. Encircling the crystal are nine individually hand-crafted titanium flowers, whose pistils are microset with diamonds. Tiny pearls evoking morning dew are delicately interspersed among the tsavorite leaves.

The proverbial rose, a symbol rich in fairy-tale lore, also appears on a ring set with rubies and black diamonds, while a pair of lotus brooches dazzle with diamonds in shades of yellow and cognac.

There are also creatures from the enchanting world of fairy-tales. Two charming small titanium frogs, adorned with pear-shaped emeralds, uphold a crown embellished with rubellites and diamonds. Taking pride of place in the centre of this regal emblem is a 17.7-ct round-cut rubellite.

Symbolic of the fierce protectors in ancient lore, a magnificent dragon ring is set with white and black diamonds and features piercing emerald eyes that guard its treasure—a lustrous 18.83-ct golden pearl. Equally captivating is a unicorn ring adorned with a kaleidoscope of diamonds, sapphires, spinels, rubies, garnets, and amethysts. The mythical beast, a timeless symbol of purity and grace, locks heads with a lustrous grey pearl.

Inseparable from the world of Contes de Fées are fairies, otherworldly beings that flit through the collection like whispers of magic. One sits at the centre of an airy, immaculate tiara, surrounded by a shower of stars and diamond droplets. Another spreads her graceful mother-of-pearl wings, ready to take flight with a wave of her magic wand. She transforms into a brooch, holding a secret that might be whispered in her ear, much like Tinker Bell’s mischievous secrets shared with Peter Pan.
