Some jewellery collections capture the spirit of a moment but Bvlgari Tubogas transcends time. As its name implies, this new collection incorporates the signature Tubogas technique that has been reimagined and reinvented over time.

A reference to the pipelines used to transport pressurised gas in the 1920s, Bvlgari’s first Tubogas bracelet debuted on the first Serpenti watch, featuring a snug, coiled gold bracelet with a square dial.

Originally developed to create flexible, coiled bracelets, the Tubogas technique involves wrapping thin gold strips around a core without soldering, resulting in durable yet flexible pieces. This craftsmanship achieves a look that is both sculptural and fluid.

Naturally, Tubogas has evolved into a symbol of contemporary elegance over the decades. By the 1970s, it was synonymous with Bvlgari’s bold and eclectic jewellery designs.

HELLO, IT’S YELLOW

Featuring 16 exquisite iterations made from radiant yellow gold, a precious metal cherished by the house since the 1950s, the latest collection caters to a wide range of preferences and moods. For lovers of minimalist elegance, there’s the essential yellow gold bracelet in addition to a version that combines yellow, white, and rose gold.

Choose from ultra-modern diamond studs for extra sparkle or the luxurious Serpenti Tubogas with its diamond-encrusted snake head for an even more striking look. Combining contemporary design with artisanal tradition, these pieces can be worn alone or layered.

They are complemented by a ring, necklace, and choker, all bearing the same signature fluidity. While the chain necklace with a central Tubogas element perfectly balances elegant opulence, the supple choker, available in gold or with edgy diamond accents, embraces the neck with sleek, modern elegance.

ROMAN REFERENCE

As a tribute to Bvlgari’s audacious creativity in the 1970s—a time when it was at its most adventurous—the house has infused some pieces with the Parentesi motif, a geometric design inspired by Roman pavements. Featuring brilliant diamonds, it adds another layer of sophistication to the necklace and bracelet.

Bvlgari’s use of coloured gemstones demonstrates its daring approach to colour and preference for combining ornamental stones with gemstones. Three striking pieces showcase a central gemstone—tanzanite, rubellite or green tourmaline—beautifully framed by geometric hardstone inserts and pavé diamonds.

The collection also spotlights Bvlgari’s reputation as a pioneering jeweller-watchmaker with the new Bvlgari Bvlgari Tubogas timepiece.

NOW WATCH THIS

Two signatures merge seamlessly in this watch: the tubular elegance of the Tubogas bracelet and the double-logo engraving on the yellow gold case that’s inspired by ancient Roman coins. The black lacquered dial, embellished with diamond indexes, creates a striking contrast between bold elegance and understated sophistication, while the fluid bracelet—forged from yellow, white, and rose gold—elevates the creation to a work of wearable art.

To commemorate the launch of the Tubogas collection, Bvlgari unveiled the visually captivating Icon Campaign. Photographed and directed by Julien Vallon, it captures the fluidity of the Tubogas through the graceful movements of professional dancers adorned with the collection’s glittering new pieces. In each movement, the jewellery’s flowing, sinuous lines reflect its aesthetic elegance and tactile comfort.

Bvlgari’s brand ambassador, Japanese model Hikari Mori, embodies the versatility of the collection that captures the essence of style and refinement whether she’s wearing an understated gold bracelet or a more elaborate necklace.

As the new Tubogas collection takes us back to the brand’s origins, the Bvlgari Studio project aims to propel the brand forward. Following its successful debut in Seoul in March, the Bvlgari Studio—a multidisciplinary platform where contemporary creators are invited to reinterpret the maison’s icons, including B.zero1, Bvlgari Bvlgari, and Bvlgari Tubogas—has arrived in New York City, offering an immersive exploration of the Tubogas.

GLOW WITH THE FLOW

As part of this artistic venture, visionary digital artist Antoni Tudisco contributes his surreal, avant-garde interpretations. By blending the physical and digital worlds, he creates a narrative that is both timeless and forward-looking. Fluidity and movement define Tudisco’s dynamic visuals, which capture the spirit of Tubogas as a design that flows effortlessly as the wearer moves.

A star-studded guest list, including Naomi Campbell and Dakota Johnson, graced the Tubogas launch on 4 September at The Refinery at Domino in Brooklyn. Among the highlights of the evening was Berlin-based light artist and designer Christopher Baude’s hypnotic moving-light sculpture, ‘The Wave’, a kinetic masterpiece that mirrors the endless curves of Tubogas.

With the golden hues of the New York sunset in the background, it was clear that Bvlgari had once again created something truly exceptional. However, Bvlgari Studio’s journey is far from over. The Fifth Avenue flagship store will host a specially curated installation showcasing some exquisite Tubogas jewellery. The immersive experience showcases the house’s relentless drive to innovate, bringing new life to its signature designs to captivate the next generation of jewellery enthusiasts.
