A master of ultra-thin movements and an artist in the world of complications, Bulgari is an absolute authority in high watchmaking. In its Octo Finissimo line alone, the watchmaker has raked up impressive series of world records, including the world’s thinnest watch. Launched earlier this year at Watches & Wonders 2022, the Octo Finissimo Ultra is a mere 1.80mm thick.

The octagon represents the symbiosis of two basic shapes: the square and the circle. Yet, even with its angular corners and edges, it still manages to maintain perfect symmetry and classicism. Its symbolic links to divinity, archaeology, and numerology further imbue it with a degree of sacredness and importance. It’s no wonder Bulgari is so captivated by this ideal shape.

In the recently unveiled Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days, Bulgari continues to expand on the quintessence of the Octo spirit. The masculine ticker is faithful to the contemporary style of the Octo and boldly defines its geometrical structure.

Powered by the new calibre BVL 199 SK, an ultra-thin hand-wound manufacture movement, the watch runs on an exceptional 8-day power reserve. The 2.50 mm movement features sand-blasted anthracite PVD skeletonised bridges that add a beautiful contrast to the gold hour markers and hands. Water resistant to 30 m, the handsome 40mm satin-finished pink gold case is only 5.95 mm thick even with a sapphire crystal case back.

With the new Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon, Bulgari pays tribute to its jewellery heritage by artfully balancing the brand’s artistic sensibilities with its watchmaking expertise. Revered as an important symbol and icon of the house, the serpent has been a recurring motif in Bulgari’s Serpenti creations since the 1940s. Presented as ravishing high jewellery pieces and statement timepieces, the collection is constantly evolving.

The Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon was designed for maximum visual impact. It features a supple body paved with diamonds and black spinel that wraps around the wrist comfortably. Ensconced within the iconic snake-head case is the tailor-made BVL 150 self-winding movement, a miniature movement bearing a tourbillon at six o’clock.

Despite their numerous evolutions, both the Octo and Serpenti continue to be an infinite source of inspiration for Bulgari. From the assembly of a tiny hairspring to the setting of a diamond, each watch is a tribute to Bulgari’s mastery over traditional craftsmanship and a celebration of its eternal style.
