Celebrating Time with Breitling
Breitling’s links with the aviation industry go back a long way due to the remarkable materials it uses and its innovative designs. In the years since it was founded in 1884, the company has made advances to make its clocks easier and more accurate for pilots to use. Alvin Soon, president of Breitling Asia, welcomed over 80 guests to the new flagship store in Raffles City Shopping Centre to announce the brand’s vision and showcase its newest watch designs. In addition, guests answered trivia questions as part of a pseudo-treasure hunt and had their palms read by palmist Ling.
Essences of Life With L’Artisan Parfumeur
About 40 years ago, a challenge led to the creation of L’Artisan Parfumeur. As a chemist, Jean Laporte was asked by a friend to create a banana scent to match a costume made from the same fruit for a gala evening at the Folies Bergères. Citrus and vanilla scents soon followed. To create unusual scents, he experimented with and used “natural essences”. His first collection of fragrances was so well received that collectors of perfumes called Jean Laporte “L’Artisan Parfumeur”, or “the craftsman of fragrance”. a+ guests were treated to an early preview of L’Artisan Parfumeur’s first South-east Asia atelier at Ngee Ann City.
Vroom with Maserati
Maserati held a test drive session of several models, with the MC20 topping everyone’s list and the new Grecale coming in second. Afterwards, an elegant five-course dinner was served in its showroom. As guests discussed their test drives and other global issues, champagne flowed freely. Leah Design provided guests with personalised hand-painted leather name card holders.
ILLUMINATE YOUR WORLD AT Flaming Queen
Paragon is home to Flaming Queen’s fourth store. Each invited a+ guest chose their favourite Dr. Vranjes fragrance to scent a personalised potpourri pouch. In addition, they were able to shop the newest candles, diffusers, car smells, home goods, table lights, and even chairs and carpets from brands like Artemide, Baobab Collection, Christian Lacroix, Kartell, La Perla Home, Locherber Milano, Mr & Mrs Fragrance, and Villeroy & Boch. Guests were also given a limited-edition Dr. Vranjes diffuser.
Novelty Viewing at ZENITH
In 1969, Zenith introduced the first automatic chronograph. This watch is driven by an El Primero movement, still one of the most accurate series-made calibres in the world. Singapore had the honour of exhibiting two of the original Zenith El Primero watches. As part of the celebration, Zenith and a+ hosted a novelty viewing at its Marina Bay Sands boutique. Emile Bruyer, the SEA brand director presented 30 new watches as part of the preview collection. A limited-edition watch roll was awarded to three winners following an interactive quiz. Guests were served bespoke alcoholic beverages and presented with customised luggage tags to take home.
THE NEW MCCOY at Pola
The newest POLA B.A GRANDLUXE IV formula was presented to guests in the cozy Ambassador suite of the Intercontinental Hotel. Ever since its first generation was introduced in 2006, it has evolved into the serum-milk that has long been the preferred product for smooth, firm, and glowing skin. For the first time, its composition now distributes moisture gradually. Users of the product have reported positive advantages like glowing, enhanced skin in addition to stabilising their skin.
Shining The Spotlight ON SAMH
The Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) celebrated its 55th anniversary with an exclusive charity dinner at the Asian Civilizations Museum recently. Guests enjoyed four courses while listening to performances by several musicians, including pianists Nicholas Ho, Eric Lim, Jonathan Shin, and Dr Vivienne Wee, and singers Shaun Lee and Erick Guansing. A silent auction also provided guests with the opportunity to bid on art pieces by known artists and SAMH beneficiaries. The generous sponsorship by Hinrich Foundation and Resilience Collective and funds raised from the event, will enable SAMH to continue its exemplary mental health work.
ELECTRIC DREAMS with Mercedes-benz
Our readers got up close and personal with a trio of all-electric cars from Mercedes-Benz – EQS SUV, Mercedes-AMG EQE, and the all-new EQE SUV. They also enjoyed a selection of tapas and beverages at Christina’s, Mondrian Singapore Duxton. Despite the heavy downpour, the guests went on to test drive the cars. They were impressed with the smooth handling, comfort, and spaciousness.
