Graff has made the butterfly one of jewellery’s most cherished motifs, expressing its delicate form and graceful motions in a collection of masterpieces.

As they evoke themes such as harmony, confidence, and transformation, these creations, including diamond necklaces, bracelets, and drop earrings, also linger as reminders to treasure the mesmerising moments of becoming.

Unveiled in Singapore in May, the British jeweller’s “Diamonds Take Flight” Asia Travelling Exhibition beguiled us with more than 65 high jewellery dazzlers embedded with its imagination and virtuosity.

An exclusive preview invited clients to experience “a pause in motion” through creations punctuated by pave diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, capturing the butterfly in mid-flight and its beauty in stillness.

As part of the collection, a white diamond suite followed a continuous arc with subtle scale variations, capturing the spontaneity of flapping wings. Toreflect butterfly wings radiating outwards, a necklace was set with 85.56ct of pave rubies, centred by a 5.09-ct emerald-cut diamond.

While these pieces encouraged contemplation, the exhibition’s headliner was a series of 12 unique brooches. Limited to 10 pieces per design and available only by advance order, they can also be worn as pendants.

These creations offer glimpses into the world of Graff, where its passion for art, from impressionism and art deco to surrealism, informs its craftsmanship. Each features an en tremblant butterfly dancing at the centre, gleaming with gems such as coloured diamonds, black spinels, and pink opals.

After Hong Kong and Singapore, the collection will travel to Shanghai and Macau, showcasing its artistry to audiences across Asia.

Shall We Dance

Tamara
Inspired by Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka, whose glamorous portraits became synonymous with the Art Deco era, this pairs 2.60ct of marquise-and baguette-cut Zambian emeralds with 2.67ct of diamonds for the sunburst motif.

Seraphina
Featuring 2.83ct of Mozambique rubies and 3.03ct of diamonds, this balances the opulence of the Baroque era with a discreet modern sensibility. Its pear-shaped diamond drop is detachable and can be worn on the wing.

Eva
Set with 2.88ct of sapphires, 0.85ct of paraiba tourmalines, 0.12ct of emeralds, and 1.07ct of diamonds, this is a tribute to impressionist artist Eva Gonzalès. Tiny butterflies flitting in a glorious garden—what’s not to love?
