Bottles For A Cause with Lions Club of Singapore Orchard
Under the direction of its president Dayanand Menon, the Lions Club of Singapore Orchard organised a charity dinner called ‘Bottles for a Cause’ at the renowned Empress restaurant at Asian Civilisations Museum. It raised $22,000 through an auction of rare wines, champagnes, and whiskies to benefit the Lions Home for the Elders. The silent bidding segment, which allowed you to choose someone to sing a karaoke song on your behalf, made the evening’s activities livelier and more enjoyable.
Club Tropicana at the Wild Rice Ball
Held annually in the Shangri-La Hotel Island Ballroom, the Wild Rice ball extended a warm welcome to everyone who attended. The room, which went by the name Club Tropicana, was fully decorated with neon lights, and the guests were glammed up in glitter, fruits, ferns, and sequins. A thrilling performance by the Singapore School of Samba and a hilarious rendition of Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’ by Hossan Leong were among the highlights. A total of $861,195 was raised, part of which was used to kickstart the organisation’s New & Now campaign. The money will be dedicated to support the company’s efforts to find and nurture new plays and performers.
Golden Glow with Guerlain
Guerlain hosted an exclusive event for a+ guests to launch its new Orchidée Impériale Gold Nobile Serum and Cream at the recently opened Artyzen Hotel’s luxurious penthouse. It was an opportunity for them to learn first-hand about the state-of-the-art scientific research that went into the new skincare. Cupid’s Corner with Chan Karwai
Rising Malaysian artist Chan Karwai recently held an exhibition at the ReCasa luxury showroom to showcase her latest ‘Cupid Rhapsody’ paintings. Chan, famous for her Formula 1 paintings, entertained guests and friends with tales derived from creating her latest works that depict Cupid in various city situations, such as riding the bus and driving.
