Singing Aloud
The annual gala for the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) made its post-Covid debut at the ballroom of the Fullerton Hotel with much good cheer all night long. a+, as lead media partner was there to capture all the festivities. A special recognition award was presented to Toh Weng Cheong for his past service towards SLO. Highlight of the evening were the performances of baritone Martin Ng and soprano Nancy Yuen singing excerpts from Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni and Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo, with the SLO Adult Chorus and Piano Quartet providing accompaniment.
Stylish Affair
Guests were taken on an interactive lifestyle adventure by Plaza Singapura and a+ as they toured the mall’s Tempur, Osim, and Muji stores. Host and award-winning lifestyle expert Andrea Savage discussed her own experience with healthy living and restful sleep. Technology has progressed. For example, guests can customise the stress level data and integrate it into the Osim chair, or utilise a diffuser and aromatherapy for better sleep. The Tempur spokesman also put paid to the notion that the older generation needs firm mattresses. Hint: it depends. The afternoon ended with canapes and champagne.
A WHISKY VOYAGE
An exclusive whisky tasting was held by The ReCasa Group at its chic ReCasa Living showroom. Seven distinct whiskies were served to guests, each presented and laid out on a sampling mat made specifically by ReCasa Living’s team. The 36 Years Miyabi Ryukyu whisky preview was the evening’s high point. The guests enjoyed a variety of appetisers in addition to sipping and “chewing” the various whiskies. Shin Group sponsored 3 whiskies— Shinobu Pure Malt Whisky, Shinobu 10 Years Old Pure Malt Whisky, and Shinobu 10 Years Old Pure Malt Lightly Peated Whisky) — for a lucky draw just before the informal session came to a conclusion. ReCasa aroma nebuliser sets were given to departing guests as door gifts.
