Franck Muller is commemorating Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th anniversary with the Vanguard Damascus Steel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition, a limited release of just 28 pieces that celebrates the brand’s innovative spirit, expert craftsmanship, and enduring partnership with Sincere Fine Watches.
Sincere, recognising Franck Muller‘s potential in 1991, became one of the first retailers to carry the brand and started off as their exclusive distributor in Southeast Asia in 1992. Since then, their partnership has flourished, marked by key milestones and shared successes.
The timepiece captivates with its Damascus steel case, a material rooted in ancient metallurgy from Damascus, Syria. Perfected by Franck Muller through a patented process, the alloy is created by forging layers of high- and low-carbon steel, which, when treated with acid, reveal its signature wavy patterns and remarkable strength. This choice of material not only highlights Franck Muller’s commitment to innovation but also symbolises the intricate and longstanding relationship with Sincere Fine Watches.
The Jubilee Edition’s case, skeletonised movement, crown, and buckle are all crafted from Damascus steel, cut from single blocks using CNC machines. The alloy, made from stainless steels 316L and 304L through advanced powder metallurgy, ensures that each watch is unique, showcasing distinct striations and requiring careful polishing to preserve its iconic pattern.
Calibre MVT FM 1740-VS2
Powered by the skeletonised calibre MVT FM 1740-VS2, the watch boasts intricate Damascus steel bridges, framed by a rose gold flange. With a twin-barrel configuration offering a 7-day power reserve, this movement exemplifies Franck Muller’s technical prowess, adorned with sophisticated finishing techniques that heighten its complexity and beauty. Completing the look is a black alligator leather strap with rose gold stitching, a detail that underscores the meticulous attention to quality for which the brand is known.
