Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Fall/Winter 2026 collection has every occasion covered, from laundry runs to nights out on the town. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s words, “Be a caterpillar by day and a butterfly by night,” Blazy proposes a wardrobe for both the everyday and the extraordinary. Because really, why shouldn’t we look beautiful all the time?

At the heart of this wardrobe is the Chanel suit, reconsidered not as something precious or untouchable, but as a constant made for living in. Familiar tweeds shift in mood and texture: Lurex-infused florals, fuzzy metallics that shimmer as you move, and unexpected combinations of materials, from plastic to silk, that reimagine Chanel’s most recognisable fabric.

Elsewhere, distressed tweeds embellished with metal chains feel equal parts punk and madame, while layers are piled on and proportions playfully exaggerated. A crochet dress, ingeniously constructed without visible seams, puts extraordinary craft into something that appears almost effortless. The codes are unmistakably Chanel, but the attitude is freer, more instinctive, and wonderfully unfussy.

As evening rolls in, the butterfly emerges. Colour, shimmer, and movement take over as an iridescent “butterfly” dress catches the light, with wispy feathered brooches forming wings across the shoulders. For the runway finale, models appeared in glittering chainmail suits and shimmering fabrics awash in shape-shifting iridescence, with one even sporting gilded hair.
